Bear Mountain Ice Rink Our club holds its sessions at the Bear Mountain State Park Ice Rink, nestled in the rugged Hudson Highlands. The park offers historic Bear Mountain Inn, overlooking Hessian Lake, providing fine food and overnight accommodations. The park is located about 50 miles north of New York City at the intersection of the Palisades Parkway and Route 9W. Members are required to pay a small fee upon entering the park, so we suggest buying an Empire Passport which allows you access to most of the state’s parks - for a $59 annual fee. Getting to Know Us Hessian Lake Figure Skating Club’s roots go way back to the 1940’s with a small group of dedicated skating fans. We are proud of our long history and our commitment to the art of recreational figure skating - we’re a friendly group, dedicated to having fun on the ice and improving our skills. Our membership includes enthusiastic new comers as well as freestyle, ice dance and synchronized skating veterans. We have young skaters and not-so-young skaters. We’ve established a culture of support for all levels of skating, with some of our more experienced members providing lessons and practice sessions for interested members. Members also enjoy the rewards of HLFSC’s affiliation with U.S. Figure Skating - from learning opportunities to skating resources. We offer membership options that fit into any busy schedule - you can sign-on for Saturdays or Sundays; or both. [More about being a member] Ice Time at Bear Mountain HLFSC has contracted with Bear Mountain Ice Rink for ice time. Our regular members’ sessions are held from 8:15 AM until 9:45 AM every Saturday and Sunday from late October to March each year. We also book preseason ice time as well as Holiday sessions.
